I was prepared for some color variation, especially after reading the reviews, but these chairs looked NOTHING like the picture. They're medium brown, straight up. I put the chair back up to my dining room table, which is a mahogany color, to see if I could live with it and avoid the hassle of returning the chairs, but the browns clash so bad there's no way I can keep them. I knew I should have just ordered one set first to be safe...
They did arrive quickly, though.

These are very nice chairs which came packed nicely, so nothing was damaged. Putting them together was not too difficult, although some of the screws wouldn't align properly, but with a little effort I got them to go where they were supposed to. The color is more of a deeper gold than what is seen in the picture (which looks to be more taupe or tan). The material is great, you can't beat microfiber (easy to keep clean and looks great). At first, the padding was very stiff, but (since I use my laptop at my dining room table for a good chunk of the day) the padding quickly softened up and is very comfortable.
My one complaint is that on two of the chairs one leg was about .25 inch shorter and the chairs wobbled. This was easily fixed by the little screw thing at the bottom of the leg, which can be turned to make up the difference. Aside from that, I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend this item.

Difficult to put together because holes are not properly lined up. More cheap stuff manufactured in China for a number of American resellers. My order for 6 chairs was missing pieces. After two months, still waiting to hear from customer service. I was able to cannibalize one chair to make the other 5 usable however that should not be the case.
